The 9-inch model has the same 6-inch Dunlop latex base layer, underneath an additional 2 inches of softer Dunlop latex. The 1-inch quilted wool cover remains the same. Pure Green Natural Latex Mattress Pricing
The Pure Green mattress can be ordered in three different firmness settings: Soft (4-5), Medium (6-7), and Firm (8). These ratings are on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being the least firm and 10 being the most firm. These different options allow customers to choose the setting best suited to their individual preferences. Sleep On Latex recommends the Soft setting for side sleepers, the Medium setting for side and back sleepers, and the Firm setting for stomach and back sleepers who prefer a more solid feel. But remember – this is all about personal preference.
The Pure Green Natural Latex bed is constructed in either two or three layers, depending on the height option chosen. The 7-inch mattress is made of two simple layers: a 6-inch base of Dunlop latex and a 1-inch layer of quilted wool woven into the mattress cover. The 9-inch mattress has those same components, with a 2-inch layer of soften Dunlop latex in between. Sleep On Latex does not disclose the density or ILD (indentation load deflection) of its foams, making it difficult to accurately compare the mattress or assess its long-term durability. The beds do use all natural latex and organic cottons. You can see a full list of health and environmental certifications here.

Pure Green Natural Latex Mattress Performance
The Pure Green’s latex layer (or layers, depending) traps motion, isolating it in place. This keeps the movement from transferring across the bed and disturbing a sleeping partner.
Pure Green beds offer a surprising amount of edge support, given that latex and foam mattress typically receive low marks in this area. Customers report no excess sinkage around the perimeter. This can be attributed, in part, to the solid 6-inch base layer that makes us the support core of the mattress.
Because latex does not allow for the deep “sinking” that can occur with memory foam, these beds don’t usually have the same problem with heat retention that foam mattresses often do. Pure Green customers report that the mattress sleeps relatively cool.
When a mattress is compressed and shipped, it typically releases a temporary odor when it is unboxed. This is referred to as off-gassing. You can expect the Pure Green mattress to produce such an odor, but it will dissipate within a day or two, max.
Dunlop latex, which is used in the Pure Green bed, responds to pressure and weight. This allows the bed to respond to an individual’s specific pressure points and relieve individual pain. Most sleepers find that this material and construction provides a high level of support.
The latex layers of the Pure Green bed conform quite closely to a sleeper’s body, without the “sinkage” that is typical of memory foam. Customer feedback on the Pure Green indicates that the bed conforms enough to alleviate pain and pressure points well.
Customers report that the Pure Green bed holds up well over time, with minimal sagging or indentations. The bed has not been available long enough, however, to know specifically how the bed will hold up over the course of many years. In addition, because Sleep On Latex does not disclose the densities or ILDs of its foams, it is difficult to accurately assess the bed’s durability.
Pure Green’s Dunlop latex is responsive enough and bouncy enough that it does not inhibit or restrict movement. The bed, therefore, should not at all restrict sexual activity.
